Harp music will frature the afternoon's diversion. d* v "I* "I* Century (lul> Entertains Local Girl Scait Troop In the Community hall of the Mcth-odi-t church on Saturday afternoon, the Century club entertained at their annual party Troope One of the Gill Scouts of Greencastle, for which organization the club is sponsor. The special guests were the 1 mother- of the Girl Scouts. During the aften oon i playlet was given, entitled "The Dine Scout.” In this skit the girls demonstrated the 1 variou lii|!‘-' of activity in which -routing is interested, such as nature -tudy, tiail blazing, first aid, music, dancing and the qualities of character brought out by the Girl Scout law and promise. Those taking part were, Hetty Nichols, Elizabeth Yount, Jean Stewart, Robin Pence, Marjory Smith, Jane Etter, Genevieve O’Hair. Maxine Smith, Viiginia Troop, Maxine Williams, Marion Ellis, Marilyn Stewart, Betty Greenleaf, Katherine Vaughn, Violet Long, and Erdine Cox. The -oene of the play represented an Indian village and the stage was beautifully decorted in rugs and blanket-', vases and other Indian relics. Each girl played her part splendidly. Mrs. Nichols, president of the Century club, introduced the three university students who have tmined the Girl Scouts in their activitie- during the winter: Miss Ruth Curtis, Lieut.; Miss Anne Nichols and Mis- Gladys Denison. Under the leadership of these young women the members of the organization have progressed rapidly and efficiently in all classes of Scout work. Mrs. Fred L. O’Hair has served as captain of the troop this year. After the progiam the guests were served with refreshments, the spirit of St. Patrick’ Day being emphasized by the use of shamrock candies and favors.
