Her I topic “Conflict of Color” was the second of the year’s program on “I iternational Relations.” The paper was pronounced by those present a -. one of the most thorough and instruc live ever presented to the club. Courtney, in March. + + 4* "T Mrs. Conner Hostess On Eighty-eighth Birthday Mrs. Eliza Parker Conner, Hanna street, celebrated her eighty-eighth birthday, February 27, by inviting a few of her friends to dinner. Nine people were seated at tiie table. Sire -erved a beautiful chicken dinner. | Before the blessing was said, Mrs. Conner sang a verse of one of her favorite old hymns. Some of the dishes used were some she went to housekeeping with. Mrs. Conner poured water from a pitcher older than -ho is. She wore an apron seventy-five years old, sat in a chair that was given her by her brother whom she was two years old. The center-piece on the dinner table was a huge bunch of pink roses given her by a neighbor. Mrs. Conner received many pretty and useful presents, one from California, and one from Michigan. The afternoon wa spent in conversation and singing. ■!• + * + ■*•* Woman’s Circle Gives Martha Washington Party The Woman’s Circle of the Presbyterian Church will entertain with a Martha WaLhington party at 7:30 o’clock this evening in the parlor of the church. There will be a surprise program during the evening. Mesdames I^ena McLean, Eva Stephenson, Conrad Gautier, Mayhuer Rubush and Iswis Dirks, will act as hostesses, Tri Kappa Plans Rummage Sale Mrs. S, R. Rariden entertained the members of Tri Kappa at her home on Taylor Place last evening. Dunng the business meeting the members deaided to have a rummage sale in the near future.
