Roscoc Wells has filed -nit in the Putnam circuit court against Glen Burgess and Hazel Burgess, to collect an alleged unpaid note. A demand of $H>0 is made. Fred V. Thomas is attorney for the plaintiff.

It was reported here Monday that an appeal to the state tax board against the bond i-sue for the Roy Jones and others road in Warren and Cloverdale townships, was being carried. The appeal has riot yet been filed with the county auditor.

James Black, 21 year old, member of a gang of young burglars who were rounded up here recently, was taken to Pendleton Sunday by Sheriff Edward Eiteljorge and deputy Sheriff Alva Bryan, to begin a :! to 10 year term in the Indiana State tefurmatory.

1 Twenty-one persons, including one woman, took a clerk-carrier civil service postal examination at the high school Saturday. The examination was held by the local board consisting of Ernest Stoner, chairman,' assisted by Miss Elizabeth Ward and Lawrence Ciump, assistants. Successful applicants will he held in reserve to fill vacancies in the postal service as they occur.

Fortner Greencastle Woman Celebrates Centerville, Ind., Feb. 17—Yesterday marked the fiftieth wedding annivetsary of Mr. and Mr-. Charles A. Porter. Mr. Porter is the son of D. A. and Mary Catty Potter and was born in Annapolis, Ind., Mrs. Porter who was horn near Greencastle, was the daughter of John R. and Rebecca Dickerson. They have no children. University Choir Gives Program at Sunday Service The DePauw University choir gave the program for the Young People’s service in the new Methodist church Sunday night. Prof. Pear-on, Mr.. Louise Palmer Walker, Prof. VanDefiman Thompson and Miss Edna Bowles appeared in^solo numbers. Under the direction of Dean MoCutchan, the choir and the soloist-, gave a full hour program of music.
