Mrs. Fannie Looney of Harlengen, Texas, who has been the guest of Mrs. Mary Hoover on Kim street, has gone to Chicago, where her son will meet her and accompany him to Detroit for an extended visit. Mrs. Eunice Miles left this morning for an extended visit with relatives and frit uds in the west. Tri Kappa Enjoys

Lawn Party

The lawn at the home of Mrs. Frank Cannon on North wood Boulevard was the scene of a pretty dinner party Thursday evening when Mrs. Cannon and Miss Helen Black entertained the members of Tri Kappa and honored, Miss Genevieve Daggy, Miss Mary Louis Throop, Mrs. John Cannon and daughter, Mary Catherine. Dinner was served at small tables mi the lawn decorated in a variety of garden flowers. Covers were laid for 24 guests. A miscellaneous -hower was given for Miss Daggy, whose marriage to Dr. Gilbert D. Rhea will take place June 29th. A business session was held, and it was voted to give a pair of sheets and a blanket to the summer camp which is being conducted at the old Delta U home this summer by the county health nurse.

Floyd Township Endeavor Organized Floy Township was the second in Putnam County to organize an interdenominational Christian Endeavor when a group of young people representing the churches met at Caanan Church Tuesday evening, June 19, discussed organization methods and (lected officers. They were assi-ted in their efforts by a delegation from the Unity M. P. Church of Indianapolis and the Eromllif Club of Marion township. ' V j The program started with refreshments . erved by the ladies of Caanon on the church lawn. The business of organization was begun by a worship service in which mcmliers of both the Unity Christian Endeavor and the Eromllif Club took part. Following a group of vocal solos by Orr Meginnis, John Anderson, president of the Unity ! C E. and Harold Storm, president of . the Eromllif Club led their groups in a discussion of organization methods I and ideals of their societies. Harold Storm presided at the election of offi’.er- _n,i the Floyd township group sel< cted as their staff: President, Vivian Ader. Vice President, Elbert Huber. Secretary, Doris Kelley. Treasurer, Ortas Huber. The organisation was modeled after that of tin Eromllif Club which is interdenominational in scope, officers and mcmbeiH from each of the three denominations in the township, also members who are not affiliated with aify church, u-ing the regular Christian Endeavor standard, but with many ideals which the officers freely admit are experiments but which have proved successful anti which prompted Floyd township to pattern after them. A short talk was given by Dr. Bartlett and then a song was sung by the congregation, after which all went to the basement where they enjoyed refreshments of home-made pies and iced ti'U. The crowd had been divided into group- of roses, as June is the month of roses, and each group then entertained. The evening was enjoyed by all. ++++++ Give Surprise Parly For Madonna Grimes Mis.- Madonna Grimes, east of the city, was honored Thursday evening by about'20 of her playmates, with a surprise party. Each boy took one pound of food, and delicious refreshments were served. Games were played during the evening.
