It is so old that it is often disregarded as a self-interested plea of retail merchants. Their surplus funds add to hank deposits which, in turn, are loaned to promote industrial and agricultural activity. Prosperity attracts prosperity and brings added population. You never hear of people rushing into a dead town, or new industries knocking at the door of a city that is on the down grade. Make every Greencastle dollar work in Greencastle and we have laid a solid foundation for a growing city.
