(UP) — Considerable headway at artificial propagation in the five hatcheries in Indiana is being made by the state conservation department despite the handicap in spawning of black bass in streams this year due to the changeable water temperatures, according to George N. Mannfold, fi-h-eries and game superintendent. Young ba-s have been hatched at all state hatcheries and deliveries of this species will be underway soon, it was said.

(UP) — A three-day trip in Kentucky will constitute the annual mid-year pilgrimage of the Indiana Hi-torical Society and the Society of Indiana Pioneers, according to an announcement by Dr. C. B. Coleman, director of the Historical society. Members of the party will embark from Indianapolis, Friday morning June 21 and return Sunday afternoon, June 23. The itinerary will include New Albany, a visjt to the grave of George Rogers Clark in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Ky., Elizabethtown, Ky., Hodgenville, Lincoln's birthplace; the Bardstown Cathedral and tire “old Kentucky Home,” when* the song of that title was composed; Perryvillc, where one of the bloodiest battles of the Civil War was fought; Danville, Harrodsville, the fir.-t permanent settlement of Kentucky; Shakertown, Brooklyn Bridge, Highbride and Dix Dam, Frankfort, I^xington, Paris, Cynthia, Falmoust ami Cincinnati.

Indiana farmers, quarterly report; of the Indiana Farm Bureau Federation indicated today. Last year 8,677 tons of feed were handled by the department. The figure is 9,975 tins for the first five months of 1929. During 1928, jx,821 gallons of luhiieating oils were purchased wherea this year's fivemonth total is 66,912 gallon .
