NATIONAL ASSOCIATION ENDS 25 YEARS OF ITS FIGHT AGAINST DISEASE.

ATLANTIC CITY, N. J., May 29. (UP)—Twenty five years after its inception the National Tuberculosis Association met here today to review the results of its winning fight against disease and to outline plans for further victories. Good news awaited the delegates. They were told of two scientific advances that should have far-reaching consequences in the diagnosis and the treatment of tuberculosis. Tuberculin, the substance used in the test for detecting tuberculosis in human beings as well as cattle, has been reduced to absolute purity, something heretofore never achieved, so that it can be supplied wholly free from other substances which have affected the accuracy of these tests in the past. The details of this process were described by Dr. Esmond R. Long and Dr. Florence FI. Seibert, of the University of Chicago. The second research achievement consists of the production of a whol- i JJjly new mechanism for testing the in-

A NEW SIX AT A PRICE WITHIN THE REACH OF MILLIONS Be among the first to see what distinctive appearance and what remarkable performance Buick can build into a six at a price within the reach of millions. The Marquette will stand at the head of its price class as naturally as Buick leads its field, ip Fitted with the latest design in closed bodies by Fisher, every line of this attractive new car spells style — but to appreciate the outstanding difference between the Marquette and cars of comparable price, you must judge it by performance. In this new six are the sparkle and snap, the responsiveness, balance, and ease of control of a truly fine car —with the added advantage of Buick-built sturdiness and stamina that mean uninterrupted service. Research work is to-be continued by Drs. Long and Seibert of the University of Chicago to discover to what evtent the avian type of the disease in chicken, and the bovine tvpe in rattle may be the cause of the human disease. Authorities state that the work already done in eliminating foreign elements from tuberculin will affect the diagnosis of other bacterial diseases in a similar manner, rendering method much more accurate and dependable. The new test devised for the earlier diagnosis of tuberculosis by members of the Rockefeller Institute utilize. a mall quantity of the blood of the patient.
