+ + + + •.'• + Bainbridge Home Economics Club The Bainbridge Home Economics Club met on Thursd ay afternoon, May 9th in the gymnasium of the school. It being Mother and Daughter’s Dayeach club member brought a daughter. Mrs. Clyde Metz and Mis. Hernstoff were voted members of the lub. The Club was honored in having Mrs. Frank Donner, 5th District Chairman, present to give the adIress of the afternoon. Mr-. Donner living in Greencastle. a college town has always been very closely associited with the girls of DePauw. She rave her experiences with them, and ner ideas of the modern girl. She believes the modern girl to be the prettiest, sweetest, and brainiest of all generations, but the most difficult j o understand. She said the mother’s i must try to analyze the child and unierstand it from the modern view- i joint. As problems and times change so must the mothers. If sympathetic | understanding is given, the mother vill find that the modern girl is right it heart and as an example of the nodern girl, Mrs. Donner read from ‘A Lantern in Her Hand”. Mrs. Glen Leyenberger gave a paper on “Who’s Who in Indiana”. There are many loted people in all walks of life in Indiana. In education; Pres. William Lowe Bryan of Indiana, Treas. Jonathan Rigdon of Danville many in DePauw University, were given as •xample. Artists were: Steele, Adams Stark, Forsythe, and others. Statesmen: Marshall, Beveridge, Ludlow j and Everett Sanders, Music: Helen I Chappell, and Earnest Hesser were i examples. Writers: Nicholson, Wal-| lace, Hershall, Ade. Tarkington, and Mr.-. Ethel Arnold Tilden. There were many more but time did not permit a more lengthy discussion. A vocal Duet by Mesdames Collings and Gray a reading by Vivian Priest, and the reading of the collect completed one of the best programs of the year.
