(UP) — Because he was unable to effect a reconciliation between himself and his wife, Charles Case, 42, shot himself in the head, dying later in a hospital. Case had met his wife, Pearl, after she completed her day’s work at a manufacturing plant and accompanied her home. They held a conversation in front of the woman’s home and then the wife went in. A half hour later he shot himself. Because Case failed to provide for the couple's three children was the reason the woman would not accept the reconciliation, police said.

Miss Jacobs On ' Chimney Swift (Continued from page one) The reason fur this is that they lly 1 when they can get the most insects j For the same reason they sometimes | lly high and sometimes lower. When | they fly low you can look for rain hut i it is not because the swifts know it is going to rain. The air is moist and heavy before a rain and insects do not fly high up in the air. Swifts also lly in company with | swallows over the water of a river, | pond, artificial lake or any other small body of water. It is interesting to I watch them dip and take a drink as they skim over the water. No doubt j they dip deep enough to take a hath
sometimes.
They are more numerous in towns and villages now than in the woods. Insects may he more plentiful there and we do kn w that chimneys are. They are safest in chimneys that are not in use, hut often use one that is used only during the winter, for they do not expect people to have a fire after they return or before they leave. They scatter about in small chimneys during nesting time but after this they roost in large companies in a large chimney if one is about. Almost every city or town has a great tall brick chimney that belongs to some shop or mill that is no longer used but is left standing. The man who leaves such a chimney stand as long as it is strong and solid is a benefactor to his city for surely it is a good thing to have the small in-

On the other hand China has her own concept of America; she wonders if the , movies and gang wars are typical. If thi' people of each country would put themselves in each others place they would he able to see things in true perspective. The Chinese have lived peacefully for 5000 years. Swifts will fly in a great flock about in the air and then suddenly will go pouring like water into the ' large chimney that is their resting place.
