MR. WM. JASPERSON

“1 have received the most satisfying results from Kqnjola and wish to tell everyone of this medicine’s amazing merits," said Mr. Wm. Jasperson, 315 Picric street, Gary, Indiana. “Ever since 1 was a child twelve years old, twenty-five years ago, 1 have been the victim of lumbago that resisted all medicines and treatments. I was in a very rundown condition, without ambition, pep, or energy. 1 suffered constantly from the pains that settled in my hip. I also had constipation that the strongest laxatives relieved only temporarily. "Although 1 had little faith, I decided to find out what Konjola would do for me. The third bottle.did more good than all the other medicines and treatments put together. By the time I completed the seventh bottle 1 was relieved i f that chronic case of lumbago, constipation and other troubles. It has been a wonderful thing, this Konjola treatment, and 1 am grateful beyond words for what it has done." Konjalo is sold in Greeneastle at the Owl drug store and by all the best druggists in all towns throughout this entire section. —(Adv.)

Again the grim reaper, Death, sped quickly down the street and quite suddenly snatched from our midest another father, companion, brother,, friend and neighbor, and has left in his wake, a great sorrow and desolation. . Richard Stites, the eldest son of ’ Samuel and Rebecca Stites was born | on a farm near Greeneastle, Ind., on; June 28, 1879. Here he grew to) manhood, companion and playmate, with his only brother Charles, attend-! ing the district school and sometimes, indulging in those mischicveous pranks so dear to boyhood days. But | he was always a loyal and obedient. son, the joy of a loving father and I mother, who await him on the other

side.

At the age of twenty-four he was married to Miss Alice Parrish on Sept. 27th, 1903, to whom he has been u congenial companion and help-mate for more than twenty-five \ears. As a testimonial to this beautiful companionship, a family of seven children came to bless their home and to change the years of seeming toil and hardships into days of joy and happiness. To the five sons, Lee, Ernest, Roscoe, Kenneth and little “Billy," he has been a real pal and helpful adviser, and to his two daughters, Vietta and Mary a kind and considerate father and playmate. Not only does the love and respect of his own children testify to hisj loving influence but the lives of many; young people who have come into his | home have been made richer by contact with his congenial friendship and kindly sympathy. Besides the widow and seven chil-' dren, he leaves one brother, Charles Stites, of Bainbridge, a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Ernest Stites and one grand son, Charles Richard, who was the joy , and pride of his life, and a host of friends. A few years ago, he moved to Greeneastle, where he bought his little home, in order to give his children a chance for a better education. Here he worked for some time in the C. H. t Barnaby lumber mill, and later he was with the Greeneastle street force, | where he did his work well and made many friends, by his congenial personality. At the time of his death he | was employed by Wm. Randall’s' Trucking Company and was at thej wheel of duty driving his truck in Indianapolis in the interest of his employer, when the fatal accident occurred that caused his untimely leath. On Thursday morning, March 21, 1929, lie left home driving to Indianapolis, and was just beginning on the day’s work when his truck was hit by a passing automobile and thrown beneath it. He was sent to the City Hospital in Indianapolis, where he lingered through most of tho day, still conscious, his first thought was of his wife and family, who came quickly at his call and were with him at the time of his death, which occurred shortly after six o’clock. At the time of his death he was forty-nine years, eight months, ind twenty-one days, old, scarcely two score and ten years of the allotted life of man. Though he did not affilate with any church, he had always held to the Baptist faith and lived a clean, honest ami upright life. He vas faithful to duty, trusted by emiloyers, kind-hearted and devoted to his family, unselfish, always thinking if the wants of others, before eondderin* himself. He is gone, seemingly before his time. Some things we cannot understand, but secure in ’aith, we think that God knows best tmi will believe that all things work together for good to them that love he Lord, ami in the meantime, his life and example will ever be fresh as an inspiration to the minds and marts of those he leaves behind. He was a respected member of the Loyal Order of Moose of Greeneastle, as the attendance of this large body of fraternal brothers now testify to his sterling qualities and true worth is a man and a brother.

— o

C ARD OF THANKS We wish to thank our neighbors and friends for their many acts of kindness and sympathy shown us during our recent bereavement in the death of our beloved husband and father. Also to thank Rev. Davies for his consoling words. —Mrs. Richard Stites ami Family.

ALCOHOL IN SUGAR ( ANK USED FOR “ANTI-KNOCK"

WASHINGTON, Mur. 26. (UP)A process of manufacturing alcohol for use as an “anti knock” element in gasoline from ordinary sugar-canes has been discovered in Australia ami a company formed there for marketing it, the Commerce Department has been advised by its representative in Sydney. A plant, which has been erected in yueenslaml, will, it is said, be able to produce between 500,000 and 600,000 gallons of the fuel yearly. Experiments, it is said, resulted in the production of a 99 per cent pure alcohol. The London General Omnibus Company, a large transportation company has been conducting experiments looking toward use of the new fuel element, it is understood.
