A very interesting report relating to the work of Dr. L. H. Murlin, former DePauw president, now of the American Chureh in Berlin, has been

received here.

According to the report February completed six months of service by Dr. and Mrs. Murlin in the American Church, during which times the church property has been assembled, sorted, improved and invoiced; the congregations have slowly improve 1 in quality and size, and in their weekly support, except during the sea-on of the grippe epidemic; all expenses have been paid; a Fellowship Ban has been created a- a part of the cooperating membership; the Sunday School is doing well; the American Embassy and the American Consulate General are giving their hearty support. "The American School in Berlin, a much needed and successful enterprise, organized under the auspices of the American Chamber of Commerce has had every po-sible encouragement from the Church Committee which provides a home for the School at greatly reduced cost. They ate also cooperating in the development of n Troop of Boy Scouts, No. 1, in Berlin. Thus the Church, in a very vital way, j is becoming a seven .lay institutional entei prise,” says the Church Commottee in its bulletin. "Solid progress has

been made.”

The committee has granted Dr. and Mrs. Murlin a leave of absence for -ix or eight weeks for a trip to Greece, Egypt and I’alestine. Their itinerary is as follows: Athens. Greece, until March 9; Cairo, Egypt, until March 23; Jerusalem until April 8; Constant! nople until April 18. They will return to Berlin the last of April. During

ATTENDANCE DRIVE

The First Christian Church is in the midst of an attendance campaign. During the month of March a check is being made of the members who attend the services. Last Sunday a little more than twenty-two percent of the membership of the Church was present for one or more of the services. The aim is to have every member present for some service during the month, and to bring the average attendance up to a higher level. The results of a recent survey of church attendance in America reveals the fact that only a little more than twenty four percent of the enrolled membership of the Church is attending serv-

ices.
