OBITUARY

Eliza Voorhees, daughter of James Farmer and Mary Brown Miller, was born in Franklin Twp., Putnam Co., !nd., on March 12, 1863. At the age of 8 years, her parents located in Monroe Twp. where she grew to womanhood, receiving her education in the schools of the town-

ship.

While young she easily acquired friends by her kind, jovial disposition, retaining them through life. She had two sisters, Syrilda J. and Alice S. Lewis, who, with the parents, have proceeded her in death. Two surviving brothers are, Jason R. Miller of Koaehdale, Ind., and Jasper X. Miller of Greencastle, Ind. In the year 1880 she united with the Christian Union Church in Bainbridge under the pastorate of Rev. D. L. Vandament. She has let her Christian light shine by forgetting her own burdens in life ami helping the unfortunate. She was respected for her honesty, kindness and charity. On May 1st., 1887 she was united in marriage to Andrew Calvin Whitt and to them seven children were born Mrs. Mabel Chapman and Mrs. Hazd Tullis of Baltimore, Md.; Orville B. of Dayton, Ohio; Orland J.; James L., and John C. of Indianapolis. One daughter, Jessie, dying in infancy. They lived in Monroe Twp. for several years, then at North Judson, Ind., and later in North Carolina, but finally locating in Indianapolis, where her family have all reacheTl maturitv, with homes of their own. The husband survives, also six grandchildren, several nieces, nephew-, cousins and many friends, who will long remember her loving, patient disposition. She was devoted to her family and ruled her children by the r.d of love, \ ing them to her heartstrings by her cheery smile, thoughts of sympathy and patient sacrifice of mother love. Her health hud been gradually failing for sometime but she kept patiently on till on Jan. 13, 1929 she suddenly suffered a stroke of apoplexy from which she never rallied and lived only a few hours. At the age of 65 yrs., 10 mas., mid 18 days she has gone home to her eternal reward—sweet be her sleep. I would rather have one pleasant

word

In kindness said to me,

Than flattery when my heart is still

And life has ceased to be.

I would rather have a loving smile

From friends 1 know are true

Phan tears shed Yound my casket

When this world I bid adieu.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. O. Bratton at Brick Chapel,

two days, is the latest thing from this studio and it is a new sensation. People are talking about “Three Week Ends” as they talked about “It”, the first one of the Clara BowElinor Glyn combinations, and about the second, “Red Hair”. It is a cyclone of love, laughs and legs with the Bow personality whirling all

through it.

Why spend “Three Weeks” learning about love when “Three Week Ends” can teach "It” in one evening? Clara Bow snaps things up in this story of a little East Side girl who gets a job dancing in a cabaret and dances right into the hearts of a rich playboy and a poverty-stricken salesman. She gets away with a lot on the playboy but she just gives and gives to the salesman. There are pathos, fun, romance and melodrama In this story. Neil Hamilton is the leading man and Harrison Ford has an important part. The supporting cast has a group of favorites, and, at least, one surprise.
