The success of th" cheme depends entirely upon the failure of the checks involved in the deal to he cleared the same day they are issued. The man went into each of the banks ai d made a depo; it of jn rash and a $75 deposit on on" of the other bank . The deposit was ma le late, in the day to a ure him that the three checks would not lie cleared that day. Each of the three deposit.-, wa ; mad< undet a different name. The following morning, the “cheek Kiter" went to each of the banks and made additional deposits of $ii0 checks, diawn against the accounts had in the other banks. The fact that ra h had accompanied the checks when the first deposits were made and that additional deposits were made caused the bankers to believe that the ci n man wa on the square and he was given credit for
