The prosrram was iriven by Mrs. E. IC. Dick- and Mr-. G. H. Taylor. The former reviewed a story by Grace S. Richmond, “On Christmas Day in the Morning," which centered around a ■ family < f six children who had returned to their childhood home to spend Christmas day with their aged parents. Mrs. Taylor read a story by the -arm* author, “On Christmas Day in the evening,” which pictured the .•vents of the same family throughout Christmas Day. This interesting program was followed by an exchange of
gifts.
During the social hour the hostess, assisted by Mrs. A. H. Pitkin, served delightful refreshments.

Mrs. Yuncker, chairman of Patriotic Education reported ten dollar- si nt to Carr Creek Community School in the mountains of Kentucky and a box of clothing and toys, valued at fifty dollars sent to Hamassee Industrial School in South Carolina. Mrs. Lessie \. Wallace, chairman of Genealogy, reported that work has been start- on the second v Iume of Putnam County Genealogy. A copy of the fn -t volume, completed last spring, will o- hound and placed in the City Libiary and will be available to the publ ■ for reference. Thi has been made possible through the kindness of Mr Thomas, City Librarian. One copy has already been placed in Washington and another in the Indiana SK-te Library. I his is me of the most important phases of D. A. R. work it is hoped that ev»r\ member of Washburn chapter will respond. Another important work that the chapter hopes to complete as soon is possible is th location and markng of every Revolutionary soldier’s grave in the c unty that is now unmarked. Any information on this subject will I ■ gratefully received by the historian, Miss Sara Bridges. Mrs. I^*ssi. A. Wallace read a paper on the \mei icanization of th<* Immigrant, including therein the work (d* Elli I land and thi* Manual for Immigrants which is now publish'd in eighteen language . The National Society D. A. R. is doing a splendid work in helping these newly arrived foreigners to become adjusted and to become good American cit-
izens.

The home was decoiated with Christmas colors, the center of which | was a lighted Christmas tree. Mrs. R. P. Mulliti had charge of the miscellaneous program. Two Christma contests made the meeting an unusual one, Mrs. Charles Gardner and Mis. George lamg won the contc t . Refreshments in keeping with the season were served.

Domestic Science Club Met Tuesday Afternoon. The Domestic Science Club held its Christma- party with Mrs. Frank Jones Tue-day afternoon. The assisting hastes- were Mrs. Albert Landes and Mrs. C. E. Stoner. The subject of the program was “The Life of Ellen H. Richard" by Mrs. Alva Brothers. There als also the annual gift exchange. Missc Pauline and Kathryne Dunlavy, Dorothy Locke and Miss Lafoe furnished the musical program. Two new members were taken into the club, Mi W. K. Gill and Mrs. A.
R. Chenoweth.

Mr. Anderson sees many of the DePauw family as he visits various colleges and universities ever the country. Bernard Austin, ’13, well known officer of the U. S.
