The surviving members of his fain- 1 ily are: his parents, three -isters, and one brother. Two sisters and one brother reside in Indiana—Mr— Harry Pierson, Groveland, Mrs. Lyle ! Green, Greeneustle; Ralph Hanks, Greeneustle. The youngest sister, Mrs. Oscar Roberts, reside.- at Slat • College, Pennsylvania. The family moved on May 1, 1 b-O, rom Bainbridge to Greencastle. I low ard, a lad of eleven years, found employment with the Owl Drug Company. His kindness of heart and cordial manner invited friendship and trust of the firm aliii the public. He tontinued to the end in the service »f the Owl Drug Company during yaeh vacation except one—a recommendation for character abundantly sufficient. The brief life of Howard Hanks is a history of ability, ambition and perseverance. As a student Pf Greengastle High School his natural ability came to the front, with the result of his graduation in lt<25 at the age of sixteen. He attended one yeai xt DePauw University, and, at the time of his death, was a student of Indiana State Normal, Terre Haute. Howard Hanks was interested in the activities of life in the present *ige; and, in his various social contacts he attracted many friends. In the day of his youth he departs, leaving relatives and friends who regret his departure, hut, who are sustained by an unfaltering trust that ‘There’s a Divinity that shapes our
