GARY, Ind., Nov. 30 (UP)—One m: n, Walti r McColly, 00, I^ike county farmer, wa- killed and another man Dosaie Kanahle, 44, ('hii aRo was serjiously injured in an arjrument over hunting without permission, near here according to police. Waitei McColly, 30, the dead man’ son and Hiram McDaniel, Indi na Harbor, Kanahle’- hunting companion witnesses of the shooting. McDaniel said he and Kanahle had | been ordered from the farm by unoth- j !er man whose name was not learned urn! were preparing to leave when McColly and his son approached then with guns. Roth McColly’s demanded to know what game the hunters had bagged. In the course of the conversation, the cider McColly grapped McDaniel' gun saying. “You’ll do no mine shooting around here today.” McDaniel said. Then he attempted to wrest Kanahle'.- gun and a scuffle followed in which McCooly was pushed to the ground. Regaining his feet he fired point blank into Kanable’s stomach, according to McDaniel. McDaniel said that a.- Kanable fell he fired both barrels of his -hot gun nearly severing the head of the farm er. The younger McColly fled. McDaniel wa.- taken to a Gary hos pital where his condition was regarded seiious.

Persons subscribing to the bondwill receive 500 Christmas seals with it, and will not be Solicited through the mails as formerly.
