The Woman’s Foreign Missionary Society of the Methodist church opnod the year’s work with a very inspiring address by Mrs. A. P. Camohor, on October fith. On Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 7th in church basement, will be held the first meeting introducing plans outlined for the year by the new presilent, Mrs. A. T. Briggs. The society is divided into ten groups of fifteen or more members, each of which is named for some one who has been or is especially interested in missionaiy work in Africa, is this is the country to lie studied this year. Each group is responsible for one meeting. The one this week is by the Fanny tjuinton group of which Mrs Chandler is leader and Mrs. Pitkin assistant. Mrs. C. A. Payne has the devotional period. Mrs. Pitkin will discuss the first chapter o: “Friends of Africa” the study for the year written by Jean McKenzie. The Century Club met on Saturday afternoon with Mrs. Gustave O, Arlt. During the business session further plans were made for Mr. MukerjiV lecture. Mrs. Smith as chairman of the ticket committee reported the tickets had been placed on sale at the following places—Hamilton's Book store, Southard’-, Stevens, Penney Store and the City Library. The program for the afternoon was reports from the State Federation meeting given by Mrs. John Cannon, and Mrs John Alice, and Mrs. Frank Conner as chairman of the Fifth District gave the report she presented at the Federation meeting. It was most interesting and the club members expressed themselves as being proud of the work that had been accomplished in the district this year. During the social hour the hostess served refreshments in the dining room that was attractively decorated and lighted with candles. 4’ F 4- 4" 4- 4* Hold Business Meeting.
