AT THE VONCASTLE Spectacular backgrounds, mass movements of whites and Indians, struggles between trappers and the red men, with Fred Thomson and his white horse, Silver King, at their best, combine to make ‘‘Kit Carson” one of the outstanding pictures of the season. Carson’s life was a series of thrills and Mr. Thomson has skillfully chosen many of them in building up a remarkable dramatic story for his Paramount special which opens tonight and continues through Saturday at the Granad theater.

Primed by a week of hard work after the Purdue game, the DePauw Tiger gridders are all set to trounce the Earlham outfit before a big Old Gold Day crowd this afternoon. Coach Hughes has been working all week to iron out the faults which were apparent in the opening game of the season, and believes he has a smooth-working eleven ready for the Quakers. Earlham has shown early season strength which promises the Old Gold plenty of competition, but the Tigers are determined to open the home season, which promises the Old Gold plenty of competition with a victory. The Quakers made a very impressive showing in their opener two weeks ago, trouncing Antioch, 25-0. SCORES IN FORMER YEARS 1900 DePauw ... 5. Earlham.. 0 1904 DePauw .. 35. Earlham.. 0
