The house was attractively arranged with fall colors and beautiful bouiiuets of chrysanthemums. Mrs. Frank Donner and Mrs. John Cannon, Mr Charles Arnold and Mrs. Holier Ellis poured tea to about 140 ladies who called during the afternoon. +++++♦ Delightful Bridge-Ten. One of the prettiest social events of the early fall season was the bndgo-teu g;\en by Mrs. C. C. Tucker Wednesday afternoon at the home of .Mr . W. W. Tucker, 25 .South Vine Street. Bouquets of yellow roses and chryanthemums filled the room where the • ai ds were played, and the large table in the dining room had a center-piece of the roses and chrysanthemums and lighted tapers. There were six tables of cards. The high score prize wu.- awarded Mrs. Charles Arnold and the consolation prize Mrs. Thud Jones. Dainty refreshments were served the guests. Mrs. Tucker also entertained on Thursday afternoon with a bridge tea, and Mrs. John Clements of Crawfordsville assisted her. + + + + + + Mrs. Raphael Entertains. Mrs. V. L. Raphael delightfully entertained the Woman's Circle of the Pre-byterian Church at the Man^ Wednesday afternoon. The benefit bridge given Wednesday evening by the Btisines and Professional Women’s Club was a success from all report- both in a social and financial way. There were more than twenty tables, and approximutely $45.00 was made. Three prizes, an angel food cake, a deck < I' cards, and a box of oriental incense were awarded to Miss Margaret Emily McGaughey, Mrs. James Bittles and Mrs. Herrick Greenleaf, respectively. The Social Club met with Mrs. Jennie Davis, Oct. 4th., there being fifteen members present. A program of stunts and contests followed the business meeting. Two guests, Mrs. Nora Fisher and Mrs. Mary Day wenpresent. Plans were made fr.r the Hallowe’en party to be held at Mrs. Lola Crosby’s, Oct. 27th. at 7:30 p. m. All members and their familie will please come masked. Al o each member is asked to bring table ervice, sandwiches and one dish of food.
