(IT)— Attention of the Federal . land jury toilay was centered on inv. ligation cf a large number of prohibition cases, most of them minor ca-os. A number of motor theft and postal cases, including a continuation of investigation in the Terre Haute union station mail robhen March 26, were heard Wednesday. Witnesses in the mail robbery case included Calvin Holmes, and Carl E. Jennings, serving 25 year sentences : at Leavenworth penitentiary on pleas i of guilty in the case. Jennings in court made a statement in which he implicated Kenneth Spurgeon, alleged gambler, as perpetrator of the plans for an express robbery at Terre Haute which never was 1 consummated.
