MODEL T FORD
I
X
pifE Ford Motor ('ompuny la niakinc n now rnr, l*ul it i« atill proud of Uie Model T. It want* every owner of one of these curs to run
it as Ion# us possible at u minimum of expense.
Hecause of this policy and because of the investment that millions of motorists lune in Model I curs, the Ford .Motor Company is devoting a large part of its factories to making purls, in order that owners may
enjoy uninterrupted service for many years to come.
More than eight million Model T Fords are still in active service, and tunny of them cun he driven for two, three and live years and even longer
at small cost.
New fenders, for instance, cost from $3.50 to $5 each, with a labor charge of $1 to $2.50. Tuning up the motor and replacing commutator rase, brush and vibrator points costs only $1, with u small charge for material. Itmke shoes can be installed and emergency brakes equalized for a labor charge of only $1.25. A labor charge of $1 to $5 will cover the overhauling of the front axle, rchushing springs and spring perches, and straightening, aligning and adjusting wheels. ITie labor charge for overhauling the average rear axle runs from $5.75 to $7. Grinding valves and cleaning carbon can be done for
$3 to $1 '
A set of four new pistons costs only $7 and an Installation charge of $6, For a labor charge of $20 to $25 you can have your motor and Iran* mission completely overhauled. Parts are extra. All of these prices are approximate, of course, hecause the cost of materials needed will depend on the condition of each car. They show, however, the low cost of putting the Model T Ford iu shape for thou* Bands of miles of additional service. See the nearest Ford dealer, therefore, and hare him estimate on the cost of reconditioning your Model T ford. He will tell you, in advance, exactly how much the complete job will cost.

COM'Al HI’S, O., July 5. (UP)— Cyru- W. Schwartz, prominent Columbus restaurant owner, has used a little p.-ychology in the matter of hired help for his several coffee shops about town. Schwartz noticed that his business, in-tead of flowing along in the desired smooth style with regular customers, wa- fluctuating. He found that people, after eating a few timein his establishments, would move on to other places. After a little study, Schwartz discovered that waitresses were being hired with an eye only to their ability ami with little consideration of their personal appearances. Ho also found that many of the pulchritudinous damsels waiting table were placed in sections of hi eating houses frequented unusually by couples, while in main cases the plainer representative- of womanhood were juguling trays and -erving them off the arm in the -ectioiis devoted mostly to men. Which was not a. it should be, thought Schwartz. After much careful consideration lie decided the reason for the phenomena might lie in the fact that the male half of the couples were much pleased and the better half not <o much pleased with the service of the beautiful waitresses. More consideration of the matter convinced Cyrus that if he substituted the pretty maidens for the plain ones in the section occupied by parties of men, his customers would be more permanent. The change wa- made, and lo!, tho c uple- began returning regularly, while the male clement of the restaurant- became a regular noon and evening gathering. Since the change, Schwartz has put j two new coffee shops into operation, I he said.
