James Tungert of 509 Illinois St. is spending the week with his uncle Earl Tungert in Spencer. Mrs. “Bud” Weldon, who has just recently returned from a three months visit with relatives in California, was a Greencastle visitor today. The body of Mrs. Sarah E. Pence, who pa-red away Tuesday, was sent to her old home in Eubank, Ky., for iiutial. No funeral service was held here. The hearing of evidence in the proposed rate increase by the Greencastle Water Company will lie concluded on Monday, March 19th, it was reported here Wednesday. Mrs. J. R. John will again open her diy cleaning establishment it was announced Wednesday. She -old out several months ago but has decided to resume business here with her cleaning and pressing plant. Bruce Downs, DePauw student, Sigma Chi house was removed to the County ho pital this morning in a serious condition. He is a nephew of Rev. W. Henry McLean of this city.

A conference on character education will be held at DoHauw University, April 2(i, 27, 28, bringing together many leaders who will discuss actual projects now being carried on. The theme will be “The Community as an Agency for Character Education.” Many widely known university leaders will have parts on the program. This conference is under the auspices of the Department of Religious Education and the Department of Education.
