jtiif the tremendous speed which tbs racing automobiles used in the pictures would attain, Wood took all possible precautions toward reducing hazard to the dare-devil drivers who participated. A a precaution the services of Frank Lockhart, 23 year old marvel of the speedways who won last year’s Indianapolis classic were secured as technical advisor. Isxkhart likewise acted as starter of the race which provides one of the thrill-features of the production. The single accident which occurred during the making of the picture took place after the completion of filming of racing scenes. At the request of racing fans at Ventura, California, where the scenes were filmed, Sam Wood sent the drivers over the course in an exhibition run. One of the drivers, Richard Perry, crashed through the fence while negotiating a turn after mowing down five posts collided with a car owned by a spec-

tator.

Grange himself is seen piloting one of the speeding racing cars in “The Racing Romeo.” In the loading feminine role, Jobyna Ralston is seen a.the heroine for whose hand Grange dons the racing cap and goggles.
