The tired business man hud been made unusually so by sitting through the entire peerformancf at the theater without a smoke. Waiting in the lobby, while his wife put on her hat and powdered her nose, entirely ruined what he had left of his disposition. Stopping a fair usher, he demanded in a hard boiled tone:— “Where the h—1 is the men’s smoking room ? ” “Go right down this hull,” sire replied, sweetly, “and turn to your right. You will see a sign that says ‘Gentlemen’. Pay no attention to the sign. Go right in.”

The Christmas basket committee reported that the club’s donations had filled one large basket and helped fill two others which were given to very needy families. An expression of regret, at having to give up associations with the Greencastle club, was read, from Mrs. Ova Bryant, now located at Centerville. Mrs. Bryant was formerly chairman of business research, also expressed the hope that the Greencastle club was responding 100 per cent to the questionnaires sent to the members about two months ago from the Michigan University Business Research Personnel Bureau, as these will help the University in compiling the most complete I and most valuable statistics ever obtained on business and professional j opportunities for women. Among other business a report was made hy the publicity committee and the club scrap book, to be taken to the national convention, was exhibited hy Miss Emma Beckwith. It was voted to have a Valentine party in connection with the next meeting which will he held February 15 in Marie's Tea Room. *J« •J* »J« >J«
