AMBULANCE SERVICE

Among other innovations to the summer school curriculum this year is the class in coaching which is being conducted by Coach Ashmore and Coach Todd. The course consists of lectures and practical training in football and basketball, and classes are held three evenings a week. It is for the purpose of instructing high school coa ches in methods of teaching athletics. There are ten men enrolled in the class. One of the strongest and most interesting departments in the university is the public speaking course given by Professor Gough, and it has further been strengthened by the organization of a summer dramatic society. At the recent election of officers Harold Robbins was elected president, Verna Burns was elected secretary, and Alden Kumler, Mfss Strain, Virgil Smith and William O'Neal compose the committee for the selection of plays. It is planned to present one long play, “On The Hiring Line,’’ and three one-act plays, “The Trysting Place,” “Ixme-some-Like," and “Flower of Yetto’ during the session. Try-outs for the various casts were held this after-

noon.

By petition of the students the swimming pool in Bowman Gymnasium has been opened for their use on four afternoons a week. Miss

GL1 (OMh liSH Helen Schudel is organizing a class Friends of Will H, Graham and in swimnling for high school girls.
