and its leader, Ramsey MacDonald. Mr. Blanshard believes that the labor groups in America must enter the political field in order that they really become a force and that this summer a third party, a labor party, will be formed. Mr. Blanshard speaks straight from the shoulder and says what he thinks. He praised the English Labor leaders, say ing he hoped in America such able men will rise to lead the labor group into politi-

cal arenas.

The speaker said that Lloyd George is most unpopular in England today, not only with the working people, but with the other groups, and that Ramsey MacDonald is the idol of the people, although his regime may totter at any minute as he does not have the majority of votes in Parliament. Mr. Blanshard was brought to DePauw through Dr. Tracy Carlton, head of the department of economics ! in DePauw University and sponsor of | the Economics Club. Mr. Blanshard, j besides being a labor authority is a ; congregational minister and devotes much of his time to religious conventions and young people’s meetings. He is a graduate of the University of Michigan and a post graduate of Co- : lumbia and Harvard Universities.
