Where the Indians Trapped and Trailed Before the corning of the white man Putnam County was a veritable "Happy Hunting Ground” for the red man. His trails led everywhere. Deer and buffalo tarried and grew fat where the City of Greencastle now stands. But thriving industry and rich farming communities have gradually displaced the bear, the deer and the ruffled grouse.
