THK undersigned feel gratified in being able to say to the citizens of TerreHaute, and the people ©r Indiana and Illinois, generally, that former success and present prospects justify them in announcing the Daily And Weekly American as a fixed fact, and destined to exist.
The proprietors' are determined by untiring energy, and a heart felt devotion to the cause in ivhich they are engaged, to make the American a most desirable and readable newspaper^
The following sentiments, will embody the political faith of the American, and will be maintained, in a spirit of courtesy towards those who may differ with uts in sentiment. 1 st.
