BTvigo Circuit Court, Hon. Judge AS. HOGHES, presidi ng, compaenced it^§|p «niber session this morning.
There is some important business on the Docket to be tried this term, among which are one or two liquor cases—these are looked to with a great deal of interest.

THE CONCERT.
The last grand Concert of Madame Mary Shaw Krollman, at Colerick's HaH came off last evening, according to appointment, and we have seldom seen so gond a house,'as to number on such an occasion as"to the character of those-composing theaudience, it will be sufficient for us to say it was made up of the choicest portion of our citizens— the elite of our city, and if we are to judge by the applauding of her performance, we couclude they were most highly gratified. We are informed she leaves for the'West on the-Packet this evening.
We take the above paragraph from the Lafayette American, which will show how Miss Krollman was received in that place! IShe is expectedto give a concert in this City, in a short time
SST Harper for September, is on hand. This deservedly popular Magazine is increasing in merit and excellence every month.' Every body ought to read it, and every body can be sup plied, by calling at Buckingham's book store, where they will find not only the various Magazines, but also almost every other new and interesting book of the age.
JUgT Moore's Masonic Review for September is on our table, an excellent number. '•$-

EXCITING WAR KEWS
-ATEST FROM SEBASTCPOL.
The! United States mail steamship Hermann, Captain Higgius, arrived at New York Wednesday night. She brings two hundred and thirty-six passengers, and advices from London to the ,15th inst.
The New York Herald received the following from the gentlemanly purser of the Herman:
TO THE ^DTTOR OF THE HERALD. The following information I. have received from Captain Ellison, of the United States Navy, late commander of the Jamestown, who is a passenger on board, and a bearer of despaches from Commodors -Crabbe, Commander-in-Chief of the American squadron:—
Colonel Hart, the American Consul at Santa Cruz, Island ofTeneriffe, died
The vintage in the Island of Madeira had again failed—this being the fourth consecutive year. Much destitution prevails in the island, from so many oersons in consequence, being thrown out of employment. The Jamestown, flag-ship of Commodore Crabbe, sailed on .the 24th of July for Ports Fravo, Island of St. Jago, Cape de Verds.
Respect. J. MALLINS, Purser. On the night of the 18th, a serious accident occurred at Cremorti Gardens, but which fortunately was not attended with fatal consequences. A grand fete which included a representation of the attack on Mamelon Fort and capture of the rifU pits, in aid of the Wellington College, established for the children of English soldiers who may fall during the war, was being enacted under the patronage of the Queen and her royal consort.
The attack was well arranged and the effect was occasionally striking, but just as the Mamelon was supposed to bo captured, the stage erected for the advance gave way, and about 60 men with bayonets fixed came tumbling to the ground* These comprised troops belonging to the grenadier guards and royal artilleryv Luckily no lives were lost, although the whole of the unfor
lunate men received more .or Jess,, injury. The West India mail steamship La Plate, arrived at Southampton, on the lath, with 180 passengers, and $729,OOO.
The weather for harvesting in Eng land was magnificent. After a bombardment of 45 hours, Sweaborg has been entirely destroyed. Not a house of the town is left. Earthworks and batteries are knocked to pieces arsenal, magazines and dockyards. Loss of the Allies very insignificant in men none of their ships lost and, according to Admiral Penaud's dispatch, the crews are in a state of enthusiasm.
The following important telegraphic dispatches appear in the Times of August 15 exclusively:
DANTSIC, Tuesday, Aug. 14—11 A. M.—The bombardment of Sweaborg commenced at 5 o'clock last Thursday morning, and continued until daylight on Saturday.
The town itself is burnt to the ground —not one house left. The dock-yards are completely destroyed.

The horses, although inferior in size and breeding to the mass of English Cavalry horses, are compact and useful looking animals. They are mostly Italian horses, but improved by Arab blood.
The enemy has received a terrible blow, and suffers an enormous loss. Our loss is insignificant in men, and nothing whatever in materiaL
The crews are in a state of enthusiasm. In military circles, at Vienna, the opinion is decidedly favorable to the Allies in the next assault. The Military Gazette, which for some time has hoped and predicted in favor of Russia, now gives his voice in favor of the besiegers.
