WHITE WATER COLLEGE pleased to learn that our friend, Geo. fe. Jocelvn, has been elected President of the White Water College, at Centrevilld. This is one of the most flour-

self and satisfaction to those with whom

enjoys. As President of the Asbury Female College in this plasc, he sustained his position well, and did much in building up the school. It would fcee'.i Wiili for ut. prosperity if his services could have been retained.

The next session of White Water College commences on tho 1st of September. A faculty of able aud experienced teachers has been obtained, and the prospects for a full attendance w«re nev^r better.—jY. A. Tribune.

We fully endorse tho above, from our personal knowledge of Rev. Joceiyn. Whatever, energy talent, and devotion can effect, the friends of the institution may rest assured, will be effected by Bro. Jocelyn.

yC?T Stringfellow says he considers thefdea of a national democratic party— such a one as wo have in Indiana—in Kansas ridiculous. Every national democrat in favor of squatter sover-

on the back therefore, it is tho duty of

the people of Kansas to prevent any northern man from setting foot within that Territory.

The term of service is FIVE YEARS and if a soldier re-enlists at the expiration of that time, his pay will be increased Two Dollars per month for the first, re-enlistment, and he will receive a further addition of One Dollar per month for each subsequent re-enlistment.
