Luray, which has the perfect representation of a snake raised on the shell in full coil on the smaller end. No artist could have procured a more exact representation of a serpent. The forked tongue, the eye, ana symmetrical proportions, are as fully developed, as in the real snake. Unfortunately, the shell of the egg was broken, when it it ws8 discovered that the indenture, on the inside contained what appeared to be a bonafide snake. It was as perfect in every respect as the representation referred to on the shell. It was carefully taken out, and put in a glass vial in spirits, and may be seen at the hotel of Mr. A. J. McCay, in Luray. The snake had no connecton with the vital principle or germ of the egg, but was formed between the membraneous ooveqpg and shell, and was entirely independent
