All the Stock except $16,000, Ims been subscribed for, leaving that amount to be taken by the city and citizens of Terre Haute, with the express understanding that original subscrt bers shall yield proportionately to Terre* Haute subscribers, should they desire to subscribe for more than that amount.
The stock subscribed for by the city and citizens of Terre-Hauto to be PREFERRED stock entitled to a dividend of not less than ten per cent, per annum, «nd equally, when the profits exceed ten per cent, per annum.
The Terre-Haute subscribers to elect the Treasurer, when the worksgo into operation, who will be authorized to retaih from tho montuly collections arising from gas bills fcc.. fjHmi-amiually five per cent, on such preferred stock and Kiftfsr pny the fjatne, and pay the oalHnce of profits prorata, on the! balance of stock but when tne profits yield more th»n ten per cent, per annum, then the profits to be divided equnlly.
City bonds payable in one and two years, and approved notes payable in six months, will he received for stock, on all sums of $500 and oxer, and on smaller sums half cish and half in aixty days. Tho whole to be deposited in any one solvent bank or with any responsible person at Terre-Hmite, to be drawn out or discounted by S. Ross. Esq., constructor, Ac or by Thos H. H*y, Director, ns the works progress, and to pay for labor and materials at Terre Haute.
The street pipes will embrace about four miles in size, six inch, four inch and three inch, exclusive of service pipe, to be furnished to each consumer. Wabasn street, as far as Sixth street, to have two lines of pipes, one on each side all the churches, public buildings, hotels' Ac (save and except crossing the canal) will have street pipes extei dedlo them. Ench consumer will be furnished with a METER, for measuring the amount of gas used.
Thebuildings will be of brick, and the works generally will contain all the modern improvements.
Every effort will be used to have Terre Haute lighted with gas by July 4th, All the material castings are ordered and will be on the ground at an early day.
