To travel by Railroads is a pnblic confort and convenience. Such is the go-aheadativeness and rush of our people. that rapid and uninterrupted transit has become a necessity—a part of the habits of our people. Safetv'and security of life and limb, from destruction and injury is desirable, even those, who on the tented field could face the cannons mouth, would unwillingly risk the hurting of a single hair, unnecessarily. On a Railroad all wish to feel, when they trust themselves, their wives or children on a train, that they are not treading on an instrument of torture and death.

If the cars or Locomotive should wantonly or negligently, destroy animals, the company should, not only, be made to pay ample compensation, to the owner, but smart money, also. Whilst it is incumbent upon the employees of Railway companies to use care and diligence, the publio life is of the highest importance, and the owners of cattle, should avoid hindering the use of the toad, or causing the injury or loss of life to a single passenger, by-allowing their (Mttla to trespass upon the road.— In sh&rt the public are as much iutyr
