The first toast, "The Union," was responded to bv K. Ravnor, of South 'irol::ia, in 11 patriotic speech. '1116 Second toast, "America Ruled hy A me.ii^ans," was responded to bv J. H^Rienrds, of Maryland.
The third, "Religious Liberty," was responded to bv C. Andrews, of New York.
Various other speeches were made, and the proceedings were not closed until a late hour. Toward the close there was much confusion, and the speakers were continually interrupted.
