Episcopal Convention.

The Bishop's Annual Address was delivered to-day at 11 o'clock—so advertised last evening, during the Ses-

•ion. The Convention consists of about 12 jgy delegates, and the following Clergymen, to-wit

The members of the Convention ara ve^y respectable looking gentlemen, mostly young clergymen, well fitted for the service or for pioneer life in a noble caase It is probable that the Convention cannot finish its labors before to-morrow.

i- A Marriage Party Poisoned. Baltimore, June 5. A niamage party, in Washington county, Md., was poisoned by eating custard, in which arsenic had been placed. Some twenty-five are not expectto live. The bride was among the number. It is a mystery who commit ted the act. The servants are all sick from eating the custard.

Public Meeting, Ac. Portland, June 5.

A public meeting was called to-day to investigate the proceedings of the city authorities Saturday night. Judge Wells presided. The meeting %as largely attended. Several of the leading citizens addressed the meeting. A committee of nine was appointed to investigate the matter, and if the city authorities were found in error, to prosecute them. Also, to wait on Mayor Dow, and request him, in behalf of the citizens, to resign.

Robbing' funeral took place this afternoon, and was largely attended. A special police is on duty to-night.

The funds under the control of the Convention, do not aeem to berge enough to excite any apprehension in other Churches, or auy otherpeople—in fact, we do not see how 'they manage to got on so well with so little.

No Sectarian interference in our legislation, or the administration of American Laws.

The markets, of our own and of the principal commercial cities of the States, will be correctly reported daily and weekly.

All communications of an interesting nature, free from personalities, and unexceptional in language, will be welcomed to our columns.

Strict attention to the courtesies due to our cotemporaries will be preserved.

Daily, per week payable to carrier 1 Octs. per annum in advance, $5,00. six months, 2,50. threo months, 1,25. Weekly per annum in advance, 1,00. six months, 50. 11 copies one year, 10,00.

No subscriptions received for weekly for less than six months, and no paper continued after the subscription has expired, unles by especial arrangement.
