Wedding
From Thursday- Daily: The marriage of Miss Kate Pearson and Nathan & fibrwell was solemnized at the College Avenue M. E. church at 1 o'clock this afternoon. : 4- There was a largo aud rflliant audience pr&ent to witness the
nuptial and everything was just as
Miss Orie Fowler, who was compelled to dismiss her school at the Kirby school house on account of sickness, is now convalescent. Miss flattie Stinson, of Elletsville and Miss Lizzie Rogers, north of town, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Hannah, west 6th street. Miss Nora Pcdigo, who is teaching in Lawrence county, is spending the holidays with her pafents,
Mr, and Mrs. Solon Pedigo, east 3rd street. Miss Clara Smith entertained quite a number of her college friends Tuesday evening at bar home east of the city. A very pleasant time is reported.
Mr. and Mrs. John H. Hendrix returned to their home in Putnamville to-day after a pleasant visit with their daughter, Mrs. W. N. Showers, north Walnut street. Little Mary Whisnand, the bright little grand daughter of Sheriff Adams, was taken sick Monday, md although quite ill, she gave her se-

especially bappy occasion. The .friends liope she will soon recover, ceremony was most appropriately Little business of importance is
being transacted in court this week, though the time is being carefully used. Yesterday there was a jury trial in the e:ise of Mary Davis vs. Delia Davis, over a lot on west 7th street, in which Joseph Sader was interested, and the verdict was in his favor. The indications are that four weeks will finish up the business of the term. A number of our Democratic friends already have 'an eye out for the loavc3 and fishes. The office of county clerk is regarded as the biggest fish in tho puddle, and it is understood that John Cravens will be nominated by acclamation, if he says the word; otherwise W. P. Dill and L. S. Fields will go seining, and both have many friends. For treasurer, Dr. S.K.Rhorer and Frank Kinser are mentioned. For sheriff, John D. Morgan is willing to be sacrificed again, and Thomas Maginnis and John Riley are also candidates. For recorder, Dillon Talbott asks another nomination, and W.T.Logan, of Bean Blossom, is also a candidate. Evidently the panicy times have not affected the crop of candidates.

uTA Greatest of all our Periodicals" The foremost men of the world write the literature of contemporaneous activity for THE FORUM. This reduction in price at once gave THE FORUM the largest circulation ever reached by a periodical of its class exceeding all expectations.
To many thoughtful people, the price of The Forum has hitherto been prohibitory; indeed all the great Reviews have been too high in price for the masses of intelligent readers. But now the number of readers of thoughtful literature men and women who wish really to know what is going on in the world outside the narrow limits of particular sects and parties- is great enough in the United States to warrant so revolutionary a reduction in price. The Forum discusses important subjects, but it is not dull. The literature of contemporaneous activity is, in fact, the most interesting of all literature American citizenship implies that a man shall know the opinions of the foremost men and the latest great achievements in every direction of activity.
SIZE AND QUALITY UNCHANGED.
The Forum is now as cheap as the magazines of mere entertainment. THE CHEAPEST, THE LARGEST, THE BEST, OF THE GRAT REVIEWS.
