In the university library may be Men the Cobden medal awarded to Homer Bliss Dibell, '80. Upon one side of the medal is the bust and name of Richard Cobden. Upon the other is the name and class of Mr. Dibell. It is an unique and beautiful prize. Mr. Dibell also captured the prize of $250, offered for the best essay upon the tariff question and open to the colleges of the U. 8.

The time of court yesterday was occupied in trying a railroad case verued from Lawrence county. J. H. Lewis, a contractor on the new railroad, shipped a car lod of mules from Shelby county over the Monon, ami it is alleged that the company refused to allow them to be fed or watered for 4il hours. He c!a:ms $2,000 damages. The case is being tried by a jury.
