Lee is now the agent for the Monon road at Gosport He is a man of excellent business habits and will make a careful railroad man.
Mrs. M. G. Moore, of Chicago, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. C. D. McLahIan,of Harrodsburg is now the guest of Mrs. W. B. Hughes, of this city.
Prof. John W. Carr will work in the institute at liloomfield next week. The following Monday his school work begins it Muncie,where he has been re-elected for tfce third time. The following "joak" is from the Wichita (Kan.) Eagle of Aug. 13th: "Mr. L. S. Field and Recorder Talbott, of Monroe county, Ind , arrived in this city yesterday on a tour of inspection. They were accompanied by a number of other gentle men who are intending to invest in the Peerless Princess. Messrs. Field and Talbott are largely interested in this city now, but it is their intention to increase their interests." Martinsville's new pension board organized on Saturday, and consists of three soldiers ot the Seventieth Indiana Volunteers, General Karrison's regiment, as follows: Dr. A. W. Rengao, Mooreeville, president (holdover): Dr. Uriah H. Farr, Martinsville, secretary; Dr. D. P. Kennedy, Martinsville, treasurer. Dn. R. H. Tarleton and S. A Tilford, of Martinsville, were dis-placed by the administration.

Louden & Rogers, in the Monroe circuit court against the Louisville, New Albany & Chicago railroad company. It will be remembered that last winter Everett Cory, who was a brakeman on the road at the time, was killed in a wreck one night. It was claimed that the wreck was the result of negligence, and now Mr. Cory asks damages for10,000.
