It was the purpose of the Legislature to reduce the (interest just one-half, in addition to which the counties should loan tho fund on real-estate security at 0 per cent, thus giving the farmers the advantage of borrowing money at a low rate. In piping natural gas long distances, it has been found that much of the pressure is lost. In the line between Pittsburg and the Murrysville gas wells, the ioss was eight pounds a mile. To remedy this, the gas companies have adopted what is called the telescope system of piping. In this method the pipes become small at the wells, and graduallyv:den out in diameter as they approach the city. The system has reduce the loss almost live pounds to the mile.
