Twecty-five years ago last Tuesday evening, J. H. Rathlone and a small number of associates established the first Krights of Pythias lodge in Washington D. C. Since that time tLe order has had an enormous growth, and to-dcy 256,000 persons know the meaning of those mysterious letters "P. 0. and B.,r' which represent the symbols of tkc order. Indiana boasts -of near 300 lodges, and the one established in this city, is je of the pioneers. It was instituted by J&aces Hughes, Grand Chancellor, of the State, aed H. H. Morrison Past Chan cellor of Greencastle. Notwithstanding he large size of tit lialL, not more than onethird of crowd could be seated at one time. While one crowd was at supier the others were enjoying the beauties of the lodge-room or promenading in Armory hall.
