The srtat drawback with two man's suffrage is that there serais to be no great demand among the women themselves fur the ballot,. This is an argument that does ! not weed to be proven to those who attended the different sessions of the Conventions a week ago. If the i&die&of Blooinington had felt that their . future happiness or wel are depended on this question, t ley would have taken more interest in the meetings. At no time during the da? sessions were there aver 6e hsndred women present, though tiach a diHtiugutshed advocate as 3asan B. Anthony was present to talk upon the subject. Enthusiasm ii as necessary in politics a sentimen in domestic affair, and that is he great need of the suffrage cavsc at this period.

Tax following named gentlemen Constitute in part only the dis ingaished array of attorneys repress qtiBg the defendants in the case of Mrs. Sarah Ellen Mcintosh vs the estate of the late Mr. C. pePan w, pending in the Floyd circuit court: Moore A Moore, of Greencastle; Judge Downey, dean of the GreenCastle Law School, Judge Binkley, Richmond; V S. Senator Daniel W. Voorhees, Ex-U. S. Senator Benj H&rrison; Hon. John ii. Elaaa, Judge Wm. Miller; Alex Bowling, New Albany; and th law firm of Joseph j ItcDonald & Co. From the foreS$&?g it would seem that the executes and devisees are frightened Tb$ir fears raay well alarm the ra, for W pablie sympathy is . setting ?istgly in favor of the plaintiff, ttwj Vacte also favor th plaintiff's wa$e. Certain it is that the reprtaeif tative of Putnam county, Hon. John K. Let him now look to his own imperiled Univcreity. v Let him help furnish iu apology lor the robbery of old Francis &tky !y the Greencastle College of hisfairly-wdn ecclesiastic honors. The people of Indiana, sypathizing with Mr?. Mcintosh, will cherish U, the memory of Mr. Abnry, that grand old Methodist pioneer bishop, the first one in America, who acquired a mastery of the Greek fend Hebrew Scriptures and all other essential branches of sound learning, while riding on horse back in hie annual preaching pilgrimages from Maine to Georgia, and Kentucky, at the beginning of the present century; when as a bishop, selected a ad commissioned by John Wesley, he traveled year in and year out building 9gfehurebes and colleges for the tethodist denomination. The peo$ew watch the results of this remarkable trial, many citizens hoping that the pending will case may furnish a more dignified and a more desirable engagement and engrossment of the precious time ' of "the gentleman from Putnam."

There are a number of "gadwumps" in Blooniington. A "gad wnmpv is a person who is in the habit of geing oat of a theater several times during a performance, either to get a drink or to make himself conspicuous, and generally both. There in every reason why gentlemen should be as considerate of the contort of others, and as careful to do nothing that would be considered a violation of good taste and propriety in the theater as in the parlor. Hut such is not always the case. Yosng men about town, and their elders as well, who pride themselves on doing nothing that is not in "good form," make it a common practice to get up from their seats in the theater, even if they be in the middle of a row, puh their way by others, crushing the dresses of the ladies, and frequently stepping on their feet and making
