The land is almost all fenced and under a fair state of cultivation, largfy in wheat, with good yield; sis- fine orchards and plenty of fruit The markets are fair for all kinds of produets. There is oae good Masonic Lodge, one Odd Fellows, and one Knights of Pvthias, all in good running order. Politically, the county is very close, there now beinr some Republicans, some Democrats and one Greenback, with plenty of law yers and polititions tor all uses, and some to spare. TheTe is also nix licenced saloon in the city, bnt not much drui.keness. The city in brief looks well, as also the country about. No snow yet.
