Sudden Death

Came to Itobert 8. Noatlicott Vc.iiertlaj Morning: at 7 O'clock. FiiHcral Services te le Held To morrow Morning at l O O'clock. Robert S. Northeott is dead! The summons came suddenly to him yesterday morning shortly after seven o'cleck. He had been, expecting that death would come to him the result of heart trouble of which disease ho has been a long sufferer. Ho left home early to assume his duties as teacher of the Park school ahput two miles north west of thi cit.y. There the summons cane just before school began. Bop Northcott, as he was familiarly called, was a whole soul pleasant fellow, and had many friends. He moved to Bloomington from Switzerland county, where he had served several terms as County Supt. of schools. It was a short time after Mf. Northcott arrived at the school house when he evidently became sick. Three little children of Sanford Brown who live in the neighborhood and attend school, were somewhat surprised when thev arrived to find Mr. North oott lying across tnree seats, on which he had spread a blanket, with one rolled up for u pillow under ms bead, lie raised up when the children entered the school room and bade them ' 'aood morning.' He said nothing a bout feeling ill, and they went out in the yard to play. Retui n ing in a short time they were sur prised to find their teacher motion less, and becoming alarmed they ran for their elder brother a short distauce away, and notified him of Mr. Northcott's condition. He hurried to the school room and upon examination, found that he was dead. He immediately in formed some men iu the neighborhood, and a messenger was de spatched to town with the sad news. A T. Massey, Win. Miller,Benjamin Yoss and Undertaker Chas. C. Turner, went out to the scene and brought in the remains, which were taken to his late resi dence on Last feecond street, where his heart broken widow, and children who had been previously notified, received the body. Mr. Northcott was an Odd Fel low in high standing and a member of Cecilia lodge of this citv. He at the time of his death waspermanent secretary. He was also Notary for the Workingman's Building association. Ho is an old 1. U. student and a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. The funeral will take place under the auspicies of these fraternities. liobt. Northcott was about -to years of age. Ho was a well educated man and was a factor in politics, being a very strong Democrat. His counsel was often sought during the exciting times of a political campaign. He married Miss Mary Dollenbachcr, daughter of George Bollenbachcr, sr., about fourteen yearn ago. He leaves a, wife and four children, three sons and one daughter. The funeral will occur from the Methodist Episcopal church, Saturday morning at 10 o'clock, and the services will bo in chargo of Revs. Steele and W. F. Reed. Interment will take place at Roso

The appraiser appointed by the Insurance companies and the one appointed by the proprietors of the Courier-World were unable to agree on an umpire yesterday. Cravens Bros will at once secure additional material and John F May will arrange the room now occupied by them, in a modem and convenient way, and in a few days the Courier-World printing establishment will be in operation again at the old stand. The manner of the settlement of the loss caused by the recent fire has not yet been determined.
