The Hon, M, W. Lee, Secretary of the State Tariff Reform League, delivered an address in this city on Friday night of last week. As the CouTt-room was being repaired,- the
meeting was held in the grand jury the best shows possible and with-
room which was filled with an audience composed- of members of all
political parties. The meeting was a non-partisan one, but is was composed largely of Democrats as they are the only true advocates of tariff reform and a consequent benefit to the farmers and other laboring classes. Mr. Lee made a highly interesting and instructive address, which- was given the closest attention throughout, and all left wiser on -the tariff subject than when they came; After the address a local tariff club was organized with Judge K W. Miers as- President ; Jamais Ryan, as Vice President; G, R. Worrall as Secretary, and Benj. Hall as Treasurer; About $25 was subscribed to carry on the work of the league.
