Measles, mumps and white caps seem to be numerous in Indiana. The writer has had the measles and am expecting the mumps every day, but eh Lord we pray that we may ever escape the ravages of the white caps. Theie certainly has not been a better law passed by a legislasure in lnd'ana for a long while, than the new school book law. For several years, school patrons have been pay : ing unusual high prices for school books. Be of good cheer fellow demo crats. Democracy is not dead, neither is it soundly steeping, but mcrelv dozing, and when it awakens lrom its temporary lethargy, it will be more active and assiduous than ever. If coming events cast their shadows before, a democratic victory in Ohio next fall will surely occur. If the Democrats of Indiana will buck Iton their armor and present an uu broken front, this State will wheel into the Democratic column in 1890 Having done this democracy will be in good shape for a successful fight in the big b'attle in 1892. A party thut has encountered the storms anil endured the struggle like the democratic parly will never die. J. B. E.
