On the 2Gih day of October last Mrs. Mary J. Dowden, wife of Mr. J. H. Dowden, died at her home near WilliamsviUe after a long and painful illness of about five months. That most dreadful of all diseases, consumption, was her affliction. The large concourse oi people that sorrowfully followed her remains to their last resting place demonstrated howtdearly beloved she was; by the entire community. Mary lies iu the graveyard near Can trail by the aide of her father, James McClelland and and an only sister, Mrs. Nancy Bedfor. Mary J. McClelland was mar

ried to Mi. J. H. Dowden on the 10th of February, 1886. Her married life, though brief, was one unalloyed happiness. Sue was a true and devoted wife. Mr, Dowden having all the love of this young wile bestowed upon him was more gracefully arrayed than the IHliea of the field and should not envy the diadems of the crowns. Though taken away soon after time In his silent course had registered' twenty-nine years; though taken away during the vernal delight and joy of rosy youth; though taken from the happy home, presence and affection, of a true and good husband; though taken from a dear and loving mother and attached brothers, we can all join in mighty accord in the sweet consolation that God in His good nes and mercy has provided a means by which theie can be a reunion of husband ami wife, of brother and sister,of family and friends in a home far brighter than this, beyond the skies.
