Senator Vest says in a Recent interview: x "If Cleveland's administration continues as it has gone on for 3 two years, and the country? has no financial hurricane to sweep over ife he will be renominated and elected no matter who is the Republican candidaie. Ho-day Cleveland can defeat any man in the Union."

A man with sawdust brains ought to know that the civil service laws don't regu late the time on all the railroads in the United States. But this however, is about the average credit given Cleveland for attempting to carry out the pusillanimious civil service laws made
by Republicans.
The Grimes gang claim that public opinion is turning in their favor. They are also claiming that Grimes can take the office next November whether the case is decided by the Supreme Court or not. They claim the law is on their side, but the) know better and, propose to have the
County Commissioners accept
Grimes bond and put him in anyhow. Pedigo would then have to get out an injunction, but a Republican court would decide it against him, and he would
have to go to the Supreme Court !
again on that point. At least, this is the way a Grimes man boasts it will be done. Buthappily, no such chance will be given them. The Supreme Court will decide the case before November, when it will undoubtedly be reversed, -and Pedigo duly installed in office
