Wo clip the foHowing, in relation o the jianlon of D. O. Spencer, from the Louisville Courier-J;ournai of Monday last: "The friends of D. O. Spencer, of Blooimogfcon, mad a strong appeal to Gov. Porter, il tiring his recent vjsit to that place, far panlon for Mr." Spencer,8 He was sent up for two years for a3salt aal batter v. The Governor -would do a just act in pardoning liim." The ft titer oHhe above noticeis Mr. Edward Fitzpatrich, the accomplished and cleaver successor of O. O. Steaty as Indiana editor ot the CourierJournal. -. We fully and heartly endorse this favorable mention of our old friend Dank." and, ia common with every newspaper man in Southern Indiana, would be deligjUej.L J& hear that cxecjieciemency had betn execlged in his behalf. The -voice and rccomendation of Mr. Fitzpatrick ought to be, and we think will be, respected by Gov. Porter, as the latter has several times heretofore expressed himself as being greatful to the Courier Journal, and particularly to Mr. F., for the honors shown him, even in times of greats political excitement. Mr. Spencer has many, warm friends in this city and vicinity, all of whom would be pleased to hear of his '.speedy release, and they think Gov. porter would be doing but a simple net of Justice to a persecuted man in feigning hia pardon papers Martijia.vilia Gazette. CANCEROUS DISEASE. This disease so dreadful in its nature and generally considered not cuarabie must be classed with the rnreable diseases. God in his wis
dom has provided in nature a remedy foreverj' malady. A reliable rem- , edy is . offered by J W. Neal. of liloomington Indiana, to all of those : atiiictcd wiUi cancerous diseases. This special remedy has been in use lor fiifteen years, and has never failed in any cpternal case of a permanent cure, (unless the cancer was in its last stage). My remedy coa- . sists of a vega table compound in the form of post, which is applied to the diseased part; which it effectually distroys, at the same time producing a healthy action in the flesh that lies adjacen;wtth the cancer. The caneer beingeau it separates ft om the health ikeli and after a few days the cancer will drop out; leaving a healthy sore, which is easily healed. There is another necessity in the treatment ot cancers, that isremovi ng the cancerous poison trom the system, this I do by using a preparation of my own, prepared especially for this purpos. No pay required until the cancer is cored. Examinations and consulting free. For father in- : formation, address Dr. J. W. Neal, liloomington ,1 nd. The Iowa -McGregor News (Re- ' pnblican) comments as fallows: "Wewould like to know how the Republican party can win a victory in 1884 when the most prom incut Republican papers in the Union are - constantly full of abuse of prominent Republicans. It appears that tie News has not learned that there has .been1 a war going on in its party 1 ever sinco the Chicago convention in - 18S0, and that Garfield was assassin- - nted by a member of one of the factions. It is not to be-wondered at that hundreds and thousands of voters who heretofore acted with1 the , Republican party refuse to ackpowl--' edge allegiance longer or take, part l in the Quarrel of the factions,, - t " . Brown's Iron Bitters Is one of the very few tonic medicines that are not composed mostly of alcohol or whiskey, thus becoming a fruitful source of intemperance by promoting a desiro for rum. Brown's Iron Bitters is guaranteed to be a nonintoxicating stimulant, and it wilt, in nearly every case, take the place of all liquor, and at the same time absolutely kill the desire for whiskey and other intoxieating beverages.
