William W. Keller a young man,

aged about 20 years, a resident of

Harroclsburg, this county, was killed

on the Louisville, New Albany and

Chicago Railway at Guthrie, last

Tuesday. He was about to take a

freight train to return home, and as

he was climbing the side of a

freight car, he missed his hold and

fell under the wheels of the moving tram. - One of his legs was severed from h is body, ; and his head was badly crushed. He was put aboard of the caboose of the train and brought to Harroclsburg, where he expired as they were carrying him into the depot. The deceased formerly lived with Mr. Samuel Wallingtford, who was, his guardian. His brother, who is a telegraph ' operator, was in Bloohiington ai the time of the accident, and first heard the news of this brother's death as.it was passed" over the wire to lire press." He was completely overcome with emotion, and alLefforts to console him were in vain, Mr. Walliagford and the brother went to Harrodsburg immediately npont the receipt of the news... i - . f. her aged friends, at her handsome home at Ellettsville. The specially invited guests consisted of six couples, the ages of the males being from 155 to 100 years'; The eldest present were Uncle Jimmy Parks, aged 100 years, and his wife. The next eldest'was Elias Able, ,of this city, who is .now in his 81st year.

His wife, who was also present, is 68

Next were John Matthews, aged 75 aiid wile; Andy W, Beeves, aged 75

Dr. Harris and Dr. Colley, who are

about 6fl years of age, were also pres

ent with their wives. It was a very pleasant little party, and the'1 fair

hostess did everything in her power

to make the visit a cheerful and

happy one.
