ROSE STOCKMAN DIES AT PRAIRIE NURSING HOME Rose Stuckman. 82. passed away at midnight on June 25 in the Prairievu w Nursing Hw In Warsaw. She was born in Nebraska July 22. 1878. She married Clyde Stuckman who preceded her in death in 1938. Surviving relatives are a daughter. Lyona Ryman of Syracuse: three brothers. JBerle Stump of New Paris, Virgil Stump of Milford and J. Stump; two sisters. Minnie Blanchard and Maude Jackson of Milford,: and three grandchildren. The funeral was held at the Harris Funeral Home Wednesday at 3 pun. Rev. May 13. 1892 Her parents were John Kerby and Nancy Hutinsen Kerby. She married Bert Smith May 25. 1911 in Montour, lowa, and came to Syracuse seven years ago from Montour. He was 82 The funeral was held at the Otterbein Home. Lebanon. Ohio. Buriel was m the Otterbein cemetery. Surviving is a son, Glenn of Goshen. V. L. PALMER DIES Rev. V. L. Palmer, recently reared minister of Indiana ConferNorth. passed away at his vood Park home just nine days after Ins retirement and 61st birthday. REUNION AIFoUR LADY OF THE LAKE SEMINARY A banquet in honor of forty priests who were observing their twentieth anniversary since leaving St. Mary's in CincinaUi. Ohio, was. held at the Seminary Wednesday evening. June 21. 250 ENROLLED AT SEMINARY Approximately two hundred and fifty boys enrolled in Our Lady of The Lake Seminary for the school year of 1960-61. The boys were from Indiana. Ohio, and Michigan. They have now returned to their homes for the summer vacation. AT~SEM»NARY Father Joe Smerke arrived al the Seminary last week to join his brother. Father John Smerke. Thev plan to leave this week for a one week's vacation with Father Frank Smerke of LaGrange. Miss Linda Kay Lantz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul L. Lantz. 513 South Lake street, became the bride of Lieutenant James Calvin Connolly, 11. son of Mrs. Joy Sims of Syracuse and Mr James C. Connolly of Fort Waynel Friday. June 23. at 7:30 pm. in a single ring ceremony performed at the Methodist church with Rev. Noble Greene officiating and Rev. J Richey assisting. Baskets of palms and gladiolus decorated the altar. Mrs. Joseph Longenecker played the tradition al wedding march and the following musical- selections at the organ. Intermezzo. Because. Ich Liebe Dich. .O’ Promise Me, O' Perfect Love. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Dian Alfrey, as matron, of honor-; Miss Judy Jones, Mrs. Gareth Meek, Mrs. Terry Trexter of Indianapolis. and Miss Judy Lantz; sister of the bride. John Connolly, brother of the groom, was best man. and the groomsmen and ushers were Ed Anglemeyer, Toiy Miller, Harry Alfrey, and John Lantz, brother of the bride. The bride’s gown of white peau de soie and re-embroidered alencon lace was fashioned with a fitted bodice, a scooped neckline, and elbow length sleeves A band circled the bodice forming an empire effect. The controlled bell skirt was accented by tiny pleats over the hipline and matching alencon lace motrifs which were scattered over the skirt, The gown flowed into a chapee train. Her veil of imported pure silk illusion was held by a Swedish crown of pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis. Her attendants wore peony silk chiffon over taffeta, cocktail lenght dresses with semi sheath skirts. They wore matching peony ||adpieces with circular veils. VR' attendants all carried pink daisies in baskets, except the matron of honor who carried pink roses in a basket. The flower girl. Susan Connolly, the niece of the groom, wore a white organza dress with pink taffeta cummerbund and a daisy tiara, and she carried pink daisies. The mother of the bride. Mrs Paul Lantz, wore a pink silk organza over a taffeta sheath accented with pink flower applices and pink accessories.

The mother of the bridegroom Mrs. Joy Sims, wore a blue lace over taffeta sheath and a blue pill box hat and white accessories. Serving at the reception which was held following the wedding at the Tippecanoe Country - Club on Tippecanoe Lake, were Mrs. Douglas Naylor of Fairmount. Miss Julia Connally of Fort Wayne, Miss Carolyn Cleary of Newport Beach. California, Mrs. Jay Brouwer of Syracuse, and Miss Mary Ann Thieman of Milton, Ky. After the honeymoon trip the couple will return to 630 Front street. Syracuse until August 13 when they will leave for Ft. Sill. Oklahoma. The bride is a graduate of Syracuse High School and attended Butler Universiyt and Tobi-Coburn School for fashion careers in New York City. The bridegroom is also a graduate of Syracuse High School, attended- Indiana University, and graduated from U- S. Military Academy at West Point, New York. Questor's Class Os E. U. B. Church The Questors Class of the E.U.B. church met Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Juday and family with Mr. and Mi's. John Craw* co-hoste&ses. Dorothy Thomas gave the devotions. After which the secretary and treasurers report was read. They discussed buying new furniture for the class room of the new church. Edith Shiveley's name was added to the sunshine committee. The next meeting will be a tour through the church home for the aged at New Carlisle, Indiana. Refreshments were home made ice cream, cake, coffee and punch.
